Lady Rose

"Lady Rose" other name is "1962 Yellowstone 16 Footer".

From what I understand, Yellowstones were campers that were built primarily for circus folk to live in during the off-season. They are constructed like tanks, and were pretty high end for their day. Most of them during this time period have beautiful birch walls.

As far as vintage trailers go, they are not easy to find. Folks that are lucky enough to have one don't sell it easily. When they do go on the auction block, they sell quickly. I was lucky. I didn't have the cash in hand to pay for Rose when I saw her ad on Tin Can Tourists (a great place to look for vintage campers, by the way). She was being stored not far from me (another fortunate coincidence), so I was able to look at her before asking the owner if he would be willing to take payments. He was not. I was very sad, but knew it had been a crap shoot.

A few months later, the owner contacted me again. He had been trying to sell her in the late Fall/early Winter and she was still on the market. He said he'd be willing to do payments. Was I beyond ecstatic? There are no words! I received an inheritance a few months after that, and was able to pay her off. She was all mine!

She has been at the restorers for almost a year, for various reasons. But on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, she shall become mine in possession! Let the picture taking and camping begin then!
